Here you are! And here I am! Thank you for gifting your attention and consideration.
You and I are Co-journeying with 8 billion fellow humans on this shared spaceship—ahmmm, Earth—spinning silently at 1,600 kilometers per hour. And yet, we feel none of it.
There are so many systems we are part of, so many realities we are embedded in—and yet, we remain unaware. Sometimes, even when we become aware of something, we still can’t truly feel it…even if we want to …
Try it: even if you want to, you won’t feel an iota of that 1,600 km/h spinning.
And yet, a single word, a fleeting news headline, a spark of self-doubt, or a warm self-pat on the back can either launch your life-ship into seventh heaven—or crash-land it faster than you can say, “freshly baked Indian desi khari with morning tea.”
Over 100 billion humans have walked this Earth before us. What is the role of their accumulated wisdom—drawn from thousands of years of diverse traditions—in today’s world of what my friend, Futurist Benjamin Butler, calls #TheGreatParadox—a time where we on one hand there is considerable “progress”, and yet there are various kinds of “regress” and also the tyranny of #wickedproblems.
What are we to do? With #wisdom traditions and the modern #transdisciplinary approaches or #experiences that cannot be framed in models and theories? Add to it the rise and rise of overwhelming information overload?
Are all problems essentially the same? Or do different problems demand different ways of thinking?
But wait—what even is a problem? Could there be a Meta-Problem—a deeper issue in how we frame our problems in the first place?
Questions are embedded/entangled in answers. Answers are embedded/entangled in Questions. Questions are enmeshed in question. Answers are enmeshed in answer.
So why do we stop at a particular question or hold tightly to a fixed answer—especially when we constantly trade them with one another?
These, and many more fundamental (and sentimental) reflections on our current #PsychoSocialSavanna, will be explored through our interventions.
